Every year, no matter what winter is like, we look forward to spring rolling around in beautiful Bayfield, Wisconsin.
There is perhaps no better sign of this than the kick-off to Bayfield in Bloom, an annual celebration of all things spring.
The event officially runs from Friday, May 11 until Sunday, June 10. During this time, Bayfield is buzzing with activity as shops open up and sailboats begin to dot the bay.
The 14th Annual Bayfield in Bloom kicks off with a live Wisconsin Public Radio show broadcast of Larry Miller’s Garden Talk on Friday, May 11 at 11 AM.
Folks are welcome to join the studio audience at the Bayfield lakeside pavilion, where you will also find the Bayfield and Bloom Garden Expo.
At the Garden Expo, you’ll have the chance to meet and talk to local horticulture experts and choose from a variety of gardening products.
Another spring tradition is Hauser’s Annual Red Barn Plant Sale. Choose from a huge selection of freshly-dug root stock grown here in the hills of Bayfield. You also find shrubs, fruit trees, annuals, hanging baskets, compost and Cedarbark, topsoil and all sorts of other guy garden items and decorations. The farm is located at 86565 County Hwy. J.
The annual Bayfield Garden Tour is on Saturday June 2nd from 10am – 3pm. Visitors have the opportunity to view and visit some of Bayfield’s loveliest gardens. Le Chateau is included in this year’s Garden Tour.
The Bayfield In Bloom festivities come to a conclusion with the Blessing of the Fleet on Sunday, June 10 at 1 PM in Bayfield city Harbor. Here’s a chance to see history come to life as as this centuries-old tradition lives on.
